My dear daughter-in-waiting, these words are for you. A prayer breathed, a cry uttered from the depths of your Father’s heart.
You were made for a great love. Boundless, epic, magnificent.
Precious one, for you is made a love so vibrant it will make romantic clichés taste like cheap watered-down wine compared to its strong heady richness.
Your soul was made to be so stirred that it galvanized you to do things you never thought you could.. or would.
The love made for you isn’t complicated, or hard, or doomed to be banished to the dusty recesses of your heart where fallen dreams and crushed hopes go to flicker out.
No.
The love waiting for you in the wings is made to grow from glory to glory that will carry you to the dazzling shores of eternity.
Heaven birthed it, and Heaven will see it through to completion.
Will you believe? The author of the Great Romance has this promise for you: I will make you an earthly romance that will be the looking glass through which you will step into Eden, Paradise.
It will not always be painless, effortless, plain-sailing. But it will be the most thrilling, rewarding, beautiful adventure if you will walk it hand-in-hand with the Father.
He will be a man who loves you, though imperfectly, the way Jesus does.
He will lead you, though sometimes unwillingly or wrongly, as he looks to God to lead him.
He will be just right for you, accentuating your strength, offsetting your weakness, and inspiring growth in you. As you will do for him.
He will not be perfect. No, far from it. But he will know, or come to learn, to run to the One who is.
Will you wait for the best that heaven has for you?
Wait for the best, because you were made for a love such as this.
So beautifully worded! Thank you for sharing. I pray your daughter will hold these words in her heart.
Beautifully written! I can only hope and pray my daughter will follow this kind of guidance!
Beautiful. This is one of the hardest lesson’s for women. I am so grateful I had faith in His plan. Getting married this summer!!
It’s the greatest love of all. What a beautifully expressed letter.
thank you, Lord – this is beautiful!
I love this. I’m going to share it because so many times women want that love, but in searching for it from a man, forget that they already have it from God. So eloquently written.
I am so encouraged by this. Recently, the man I thought I’d spend my lifetime with left me because he prayed about it and God said no. On the contrary, God said yes to me when we fasted and prayed together. It hasn’t been easy for me and there are times where I still cry myself to sleep and ask God, why.
Love this prayer!
It’s important to not settle, but wait for God’s best. God has amazing things in store for us when we let Him have His way.
beautiful words!
